You know how sometimes you’re lying in bed...
…at 10 p.m. on a Thursday night writing your newsletter on your phone because it’s supposed to go out the next morning but you already shut your computer off because you’d been looking at it for 12 hours and also, frankly, you forgot about the newsletter, but you love your little newsletter and you gotta give the people something (hi people!) but you can’t bring yourself to turn your computer back on because even it was about to give up after the day you just had, so here you are clackity-clacking away on your phone while everyone else in your house sleeps, and you’re so tired but feeling grateful for your life and your home in your wooded neighborhood, which is quiet and peaceful but on the other hand is teeming with bugs, like so, so many bugs, and from now until December pretty much you will feel like you are surrounded by spiders and ants because YOU ARE actually, and you know the bugs are important because ecosystems and whatnot but they are too much for you, personally, when they are in your house and you’re trying to sleep, and you know they are not in the bed with you right now but it feels like it because you just took the dog out and were assaulted in the face by about 50 moths and you are aware they’re harmless but the tickle feeling, it lingers, and you don’t like it, but you wish you could be cool about the bugs because they’re just trying to live, and that’s very relatable, but at least you have the courtesy to do it with only two legs — just me?
