…and while we’ve all read stories of husbands and wives so discontented with their suburban lives they start cheating on each other, the details and devices in this taut novella were so tightly wound and perfectly plotted and presented that it felt fresh and exciting and masterful in a way that made me angry about the limitations of my own creative brain and storytelling ability (lol).
