I bought myself a fancy notebook...

…to replace my cheap notebook and to use up the massive pen collection I’ve accumulated from that time Shane bought me a pen subscription and to organize my life and to keep better to-do lists and cross things off those lists because I love crossing things off lists and to be more accountable for writing every day and to journal my thoughts and feelings instead of bottling them up but mostly to record all the cute things my baby does each day and the food I eat and the things I do because one time many years ago I was reading Joan Didion and she wrote about what she ate for dinner on a specific night and maybe it was real and maybe it was artistic license but ever since then I’ve been haunted by the idea that someday I will have to write my memoir (like Joan Didion) and I will need to know what I ate for dinner that night — you know, the night the thing that I need to write about happened — so now, I will know (phew).
