Here's everything that happened this week that made me go, "I deserve a treat..."

…along with the treats I gave myself:

  • Solo-parented through a snowstorm and made all my meals at home for like seven days straight (treat: takeout the second Shane got home from his work trip);

  • Had my period (treat: Gluten-Free Yellow Mini Sheet Cake With Chocolate Buttercream Frosting from Trader Joe’s);

  • Didn’t get paid on time for my job (treat: took My 1-year-old to the mall and did some damage — I’m talking clothes (both of us), books (him), skincare products (me) — an absolutely irresponsible response);

  • Made myself three overdue doctor’s appointments (treat: WINE);

  • Had an overall mess of a day (treat: MORE WINE, paired with a bowl of popcorn and peanut M&M’s);

and my birthday’s on Sunday, so the treats aren’t stopping any time soon, but I hope that they become more celebratory and less Band-Aidy.
